DESCRIPTION

To improve the accessibility and usability of the Three Squares System in the historical centre of Pavia (Piazza Vittoria, Piazza Duomo and Piazza Cavagneria). The project concerns both the accessibility assessment and the development of inclusive design solutions. The assessment chart designed for the research “Pavia for All” is implemented with detailed parameters including pedestrian areas and the survey of the signage system. The research maps three different levels of accessibility: low - medium – high, able to point out the most critical points that require inclusive design interventions. The project focuses on the most critical points resulting from the assessment, finding inclusive design solutions, integrated with the historical features. The 6 solutions developed by the project are based on the principles of the Universal Design.
