DESCRIPTION
To improve the accessibility and usability of some of the municipal buildings, including Palazzo Mezzabarba, the main building of the Town Council. The architectural solutions answer the needs of all users, including mobility impaired people and sensorial impaired people. The assessment chart designed for the research “Pavia for All” is implemented with detailed parameters including pedestrian areas and the survey of the signage system. The research maps three different levels of accessibility: low - medium – high, able to point out the most critical points that require inclusive design interventions. The project focuses on the most critical points resulting from the assessment, finding inclusive design solutions, integrated with the historical features. The 6 solutions developed by the project are based on the principles of the Universal Design.
